Elf-Training Workshop
New surprises for 2024!
You're invited along to our magical Elf Village this year for the Harrogate Father Christmas Experience!
As you arrive, you'll be met by the elves who are working for Father Christmas and be given special Elf School jobs to do. Those that are on the very good list, including their families, will then be invited through to a very special Elf School with access to the Forest of Enchanted Wishes and our beautifully crafted twelve metre long Elf Village.
Here you can have a sneak peek at what's inside the houses and shops before entering the Christmas Tipi to sit down for a lovely family show full of magic and surprise for the whole family to enjoy, and of course featuring Father Christmas himself. Children then get to visit the toy workshop to select a toy and have a personal family visit with Father Christmas before skipping off to have a photograph on Father Christmas's sleigh.
The whole experience lasts up to two hours and is suitable for babes in arms right up to grandparents. It's a beautiful immersive children's theatre experience designed to make magic for the whole family to enjoy.
Suitable for believers of all ages.
Relaxed Elf Show
The first show time on Sunday 8th December is reserved as a relaxed show. With sound and lighting levels adjusted, and flexible pacing of the experience, this show is designed especially for children with sensory conditions or additional needs, and their siblings and families.
You will be met by our magical elves and looked after from start to finish as you enjoy your pre-show activities, visit to the Elf Village, elf-training show and visit with Father Christmas himself.
Suitable for believers of all ages.
Codebreakers Christmas
This year, you're invited to join us for an 'efl-tastic family gameshow' of codebreaking challenges and festive fun for all to enjoy! With points to be won and prizes to be awarded, no family will leave empty-handed!
But first, you'll have to gain access to the Elf Village by working hard in Elf School to crack the Secret Elf Code! Your Codebreaker's Experience takes you on a journey from the Elf Cocoa Cafe to Elf School, then through the Forest of Enchanted Wishes before unlocking Elf Village and making it to the Christmas Tipi where the fun and games of our special family gameshow will commence, overseen by Father Christmas himself!
Here, you'll be solving puzzles, cracking codes and completing challenges with your family members and other codebreakers in order to earn your Christmas gifts!
Extending the Christmas magic to ages 7+, this interactive family experience and show is pitched at primary-school aged children and their grown ups and older siblings to enjoy.

We will also be putting on the Christmas Community Entertainment Programme during the period that the Harrogate Christmas Fayre is running, allowing local schools, bands and performers the opportunity to perform and create a magical atmosphere for the whole Harrogate community to enjoy.
All of these activities are only possible thanks to your kind donations to our Christmas Community Fund and the generosity of our Christmas sponsors.
Read our blog posts below to find out more.
This year our target is to raise £10,100. This will allow us to offer three Unity Shows, six Green Elf Shows, a VIP lunch for Harrogate Neighbours, and a full community entertainment programme.

What happens at the shows?Elf Training: The Harrogate Father Christmas Experience is an Elf training sing along show with Father Christmas and Tinsel the Elf. On arrival, you will be welcomed into the Elf Village by our North Pole Elves. You will be registered and taken to the Elf Coco Cafe where children will have some Elf School Activities to complete before they enter Elf School. Families will also have the option to purchase refreshments in the Elf Coco Cafe during this first part of the experience, as well as have ample time to use the facilities if required. Families will then be invited through to the Christmas Tipi via stops in Elf School, the Enchanted Forest, and Elf Village. You will then arrive at the Tipi for your elf training with Father Christmas and Tinsel the Elf. When all elf jobs have been completed Father Christmas will invite families up to meet him and everyone will have the opportunity to take a photo with Father Christmas. All children will receive an elf training certificate and a Christmas gift. Once families have met Father Christmas they will be able to leave full of Christmas magic and have time to play and take photos in Santa's sleigh! Relaxed Show: As above, but with a flexible schedule and reduced sound and lighting, giving children with sensory conditions or additional needs a more relaxed experience all round. Codebreakers: As above, but aimed at older primary aged children and their families, with codes and puzzles to solve as a family or whole audience in order to complete a secret mission.
