A Word from our 2023 Christmas Community Sponsors

Updated: Sep 17

Our Sponsors:

Thanks to the generosity of our 2023 sponsors, we are thrilled to be extending our Christmas Community projects to more families, adults and schoolchildren this year.

Businesses from across Harrogate have come together to support these worthwhile causes, and this afternoon, we caught up with them all and invited them to come along and see some of the magic they are providing.

Here’s what some of them had to say:

"Nicholls Tyreman are delighted to be working once again with Enchantica's and sponsoring another great local cause. Christmas is a magical time which should be experienced by all and we know Enchantica's always deliver with sprinkles on top!"

Nikki Brown of Nicholls Tyreman

"Christmas in Harrogate is always a very special time of year and this should be the case for everybody in any circumstance or period of their life. Thompsons Chartered Accountants are absolutely delighted to be supporting Enchantica's and its great causes, to give everyone the opportunity of having a very happy and memorable Christmas."

Gyles Behbood of Thompsons Chartered Accountants

“We are absolutely delighted to once again support the community projects that the Enchantica's Father Christmas Experience are putting on this year. It’s so lovely to see local businesses pulling together to help fund some of the inclusive shows for those who would not normally get the opportunity to attend."

Lyndsay Snodgrass of Verity Frearson.

"Christmas is a magical time of year for so many, we believe that Enchanticas really transport their visitors into that magic, and we love being able to support them opening the doors to people that may not get that opportunity, but really deserve it."

Daniel Hindson of Hindson & Collier Chartered Surveyors

"North Residential are keen supporters of local businesses and are fully behind the experience that Enchantica brings to Harrogate."

Harlan Pollitt of North Residential

“We are very excited to be sponsoring the community projects for Enchantica’s Father Christmas Experience this year, bringing joy and festive cheer to Harrogate! As a local business, we are always keen to support events in the town and hope this helps in providing lots of fun for more children and adults in the run up to Christmas”

Charlotte Grafton, Director of Richard Grafton Interiors

"As architects we strive to bring joy to people through improving and designing homes in as sustainable way as possible. We are therefore thrilled to be able to support Enchantica's Green Elf project that spreads the word about sustainable practices to young children. Enchantica's sprinkle joy to so many throughout the year, we are honoured to be able to help this festive season."

Ruth Donnelly, Director at Doma Architects

"We're delighted to help Enchantica bring the joy of Christmas to our town by providing our sparkling festive tour bus to take lucky youngsters to Harrogate's very own Elf Village, where the magic happens. All those on our special journey will need to be on Santa's good list, and as always, we'll pull out all the stops to put 'elf and safety' first!"

Steve Ottley, General Manager of The Harrogate Bus Company

Thanks to the generosity of all our sponsors, we’ve been able to support the following events in 2023:

An educational school show focused on sustainability and looking after the environment at Christmas. The support of our sponsors allows local schoolchildren to come along for free and enjoy the show with their class.

"We at Oatlands Infant School are so thankful for the generosity of the sponsors. We have been able to take our whole Year 2 cohort, all 90 children, to the fabulous sustainability workshops at Cedar Court Hotel next week. As a school with a strong focus on sustainability and environmentalism, we love seeing our children jump headfirst into these fabulous opportunities. It is also lovely to be able to talk to our children about community sponsors, as it makes our pupils feel valued and loved by the wider world. Thank you so much for your support!"

Christopher Harrison, Headteacher, Oatlands Infant School

An extra big thank you to North Yorkshire Council for their support for these shows, and The Harrogate Bus Company for kindly providing the transportation to get the children to and from the event.

The Unity Family Shows

Through local charity The Unity, we’ve once again been able to invite families living with disability, neurodiversity or from vulnerable backgrounds to enjoy some festive family fun for free.

“Visits to Father Christmas can be stressful for many families, which is why we value the experience of the incredible team at Enchantica’s, not only for their undeniable performing talent and creativity but, more importantly, their experience and ability to very naturally adapt their show to the individual needs of each audience member. The families really do appreciate this opportunity at what can typically be a very difficult time for anyone living with difference. Many have told us that it is the very first time they have managed to bring their child to meet Father Christmas – we’re so grateful for the generosity of all the sponsors in allowing us to give this wonderful gift to them.”

Lynn Westerman Holt, The Unity

This year, thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we’ve been able to put on an extra show! That’s three shows for The Unity families funded this year.

NEW for 2023 - Dinner with Father Christmas

Here at Enchantica’s, we believe that you’re never to young or too old to believe in magic! Thanks to our sponsors, we’re delighted to add this special event to our 2023 community project programme.

Working alongside local organisation Harrogate Neighbours, we’ve been able to bring extra festive joy and cheer to older members of our community. Invitations to have dinner with Father Christmas aim to help combat loneliness and provide something special to look forward to this Christmas.

“What an amazing experience it was for our residents at Cedar Court! The meal was beautiful, the whole Santa experience with the Elf village was brilliant! And one resident said this was one of the best days of his life!”

Orsolya Foldi, coordinator at Harrogate Neighbours

Guests were treated to a full Christmas dinner with Santa, plus a visit to Elf Village and the Christmas Tipi for a puppet show and photos with Santa.

A special thanks to the Cedar Court Hotel for kindly providing the venue and delicious food for this magical meal.

Christmas Market Community Entertainment Programme

We’d also like to give a very special mention here to all the wonderful groups, choirs and performers who have helped us to light up this year’s Christmas Market in Harrogate with some wonderful festive music.

Plus, a big thank you on behalf of us and all the performers to Starling Independent for providing hot drinks to all the performers – this was very welcome, especially on the colder days!
